Casa Relvas
A winery aiming for the future
100 hectares of vineyards were planted at Herdade de S. Miguel and Herdade da Pimenta in the years 2001, 2002, and 2003. Due to our growth, the pursuit of diversity, and the authenticity of our wine over the years, we have come to establish contracts at various points in Alentejo with several winemakers..
Having several different production sites, all located in the north of Alentejo, we are fortunate to have skeletal soils, mainly schist and granite..
Although we refer to the winemaking of global grape varieties, we strive, year after year, to select grape varieties of Portuguese origin.
"We believe that the success of wine comes primarily from the quality of the grape, which is why we work, year after year, with the ISA (Instituto Superior de Agronomia) on advancing the technology that helps us understand the complexity of the vine’s life cycle.
We have planted cork oak trees that will only become useful in sa few decades.
We are proud to be a pioneering company in the Alentejo Wine Sustainability Program and to have received the highest rating (3.8 out of 4). But we believe in the importance of a sustainable approach in all its dimensions: social, environmental, and economic.
