Alvarinho is one of the most celebrated Portuguese grape varieties, originating from the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. It gives rise to unique, easily recognizable wines with strong personality and a distinctive character.
This vigorous grape variety produces wines with high alcohol potential, simultaneously fragrant and delicate, featuring a wide range of aromatic notes such as peach, lemon, passion fruit, lychee, orange zest, jasmine, orange blossom, and lemon balm. It also has excellent aging potential, remaining in perfect condition for at least ten years.
The wines in this set are all 100% Alvarinho. Pluma, produced by Casa Santos Lima, is a typical Alvarinho wine; still young, it serves as an introduction to this iconic grape variety. Meanwhile, the Alvarinho Reserva 2018 from Quinta de Santiago is already a more evolved wine that shows Alvarinho’s full potential. Finally, the Alvarinho Sparkling Brut 2020, also from Quinta de Santiago, is a very elegant and complex sparkling wine with fine bubbles, revealing all the freshness and aromatic finesse of the grape, offering an original and refined expression of Alvarinho beyond still wines.
