Quinta Da Serradinha
António Marques-da-Cruz produces its wines at Quinta da Serradinha, a family vineyard located on the limestone slopes of Serra d'Aire, near Leiria, in Portugal. The region benefits from the cool climate of the Atlantic Ocean to produce wines with refreshing minerality and aging potential. Towards the end of maturation in September, the humid Atlantic winds compensate for the dryness of the soil by maintaining the primary aromas of the grapes, which gives a more complex wine.
The organic production method, combined with the long Guyot pruning method, produces a more concentrated grape, with a good balance between the quantity of bunches and the leaves. The harvest, carried out by experienced pickers and knowing the selection criteria of our vineyard, takes place from September to October according to the grape varieties; the grapes are selected directly from the vine in 15 kg boxes. The winemaking process uses only the natural fermentation process of the grapes, without the addition of oenological products other than tuna dioxide sulfate (S021) for preservation purposes. The result is a wine that reflects its terroir, the conditions of the vine and the climate. All wines are bottled without filtration or clarification.
