ADEGA DO MONTE BRANCO

Two different terroirs: Shale and clay

Today, a total of 26 hectares of vines ensure absolutely strict control of the entire winemaking process, right from the start. The Monte Branco winery focuses on Portuguese grape varieties, carefully selected for their adaptation to the terroir. Soil types play a decisive role in the character of Monte Branco wine. Clay soils are the basis of good production, while poor and austere shale soils provide concentration, acidity and aroma. Each has its own expression, and both play a complementary role in Monte Branco wines.

The smart cellar of Monte Branco.

Built in 2006, the Monte Branco winery fits into the countryside of the Alentejo countryside, in a prime location, opposite the village and the castle of Estremoz. With a production capacity of 300,000 liters of wine per year, the Monte Branco winery reflects a precise approach to winemaking that goes far beyond its pure architectural lines. The entire cellar was designed with an emphasis on durability and functionality, through the intelligent use of technology and energy.
