Quinta de Santiago

Quinta de Santiago is located northwest of Portugal in the demarcated region of Vinho Verde, specifically in the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço. It is owned by the family since 1899. For about 100 years, Quinta de Santiago's main activity was the production of wines, olive oil, lupine, cereals, milk, meat, fruit, etc, for self-consumption. Focused on the production of premium wines, expresses the characteristics of the terroir while reflecting the personality of this variety indigenous portuguese Alvarinho. The Quinta Santiago wine released in 2012 were already in honor of Grandma Maria Santiago, matriarch of the family that so much knowledge and so many stories left us in the production of Alvarinho and we try to preserve those memories on each bottle.

All the grapes used in Quinta de Santiago wines come from its 7.5h of vineyards planted in clayey soil between 70 and 100 meters in altitude and located in a very particular microclimate on the alluvial terraces of Monção municipality. It has a predominant south east exposure and is located on a smooth slope (2-5%).
