Alcohol: 12%
Grapes: Baga, Alicante Bouschet, Castelão, Tinta Miúda, and Trincadeira; Fernão Pires and Bical.
Region: LisboaWinemaking: The grapes were de-stemmed in open tanks and foot-trodden once a day. Fermentation took place over 12 days at temperatures between 18°C and 26°C. No oenological products were added, except for small quantities of sulfur dioxide (SO2) for preservation.
Aging: Aged for 24 months in used 600-liter oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: One of the greatest red wines from Portugal! It has a distinctly Atlantic character. Complex on the nose, complex on the palate. The finish is truly impressive. Rather than reading about this wine, you should drink it with a roasted dish.
